A band, a day job and instant noodles
The store page calls Legends of Rock “a management game where you run your own rock band.” The unit of play is the day. Each morning you decide where your hours go: writing songs, rehearsing, playing gigs, or working the day job that pays the bills. Arik Games sums up the diet in four words: “surviving on instant noodles.”
Outside the practice room there is a city to work through. You shop for records, instruments and groceries. Around town you meet musicians and recruit the ones who will become your band. Later you record albums and earn points in the race for a place in the online Hall of Fame.
Then comes the line that tells you what kind of game this is, straight from the Steam page: “Ah, and remember to take a shower from time to time.” Food and hygiene count. A rock career here is built from small daily chores as much as from big nights on stage.
How your choices show up on stage
Your character has attributes, and the way you spend a day moves them. According to the Steam page, practicing improves your musical skills and listening to music boosts your inspiration. Skip meals for too long, though, and you get sick, which costs you time.
That last rule turns the calendar into a puzzle. A week spent rehearsing every waking hour looks efficient until you are in bed with an empty fridge and the gig is on Friday.
Your bandmates have numbers of their own. Each member performs according to their skill and how much they have practiced. Songs are split into separate instrument tracks, and those tracks play out differently every time. In the studio’s words: “maybe the drummer nails it while the guitarist struggles.” As the band improves, so do the performances, so you hear your progress instead of only reading it off a screen.
Steam files the game under Adventure, Indie and Simulation. Its store tags include Management, Life Sim, Time Management, Pixel Graphics, Rock Music and 1980s.
Who made it
Arik Games is both developer and publisher. The music is the part of the credits that stands out. The in-game band’s songs were composed by Arne Skagen of Gluecifer and Anton Ruud, and the Steam page thanks eighteen bands for letting the studio feature their music, among them Slomosa, Sibiir, Svölk, Yoth Iria and The Good, The Bad and The Zugly.
For a game about becoming a rock band, that list matters. A music management game depends on whether the songs sound like songs, and here the credits name the musicians who wrote and played them.
The IndiePump.space press kit carries the short description ready to paste, the key art, a fact sheet with the Steam app id (4227560), and a link to the studio’s own press kit.
When you can play it

Two dates to know
Demo now, full game November 5
The demo is a separate, free download on the Steam page and is playable now. The full game is listed for November 5, 2026. Wishlist it on Steam if you want it on your radar for launch week.
If a daily loop with a soundtrack by working musicians sounds like your kind of evening, the demo is the quickest way to find out whether the noodle budget gets to you. The full game runs on Windows, macOS and SteamOS + Linux, in twelve languages.
If you do try the demo, watch two things. First, how fast the money goes when the day job slips. Second, whether the same song sounds different from one gig to the next. Those are the two systems the store page leans on hardest, and they decide whether the game feels like running a band or filling in a spreadsheet.
If managing a career one decision at a time is what draws you in, or you want more games built around music, these two have demos on Steam as well: Heya! Sumo Manager puts you in charge of a sumo stable, and Rhythm Hotel is a story-driven rhythm game.

For creators
Legends of Rock has a press kit on IndiePump.space with a Request a Key button. Sign in with your creator account, or join as a creator if you are new, then tell Arik Games who you are and where you would cover the game. The developer decides, and you are told either way. If the key vault is empty when you look, you can still send the request. A game built on days and weeks suits a series: the first broke week, the first gig, the first album. The press kit also notes that the demo is open to play and record before the full release, and its fact sheet lists a press contact at the studio if you want to ask Arik Games questions for a video or an article.
